Element Amsterdam is a NEN-EN-ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory that provides a wide range of Materials Testing, Corrosion Testing, Coatings Testing, Weld Testing, and Failure Analysis services to the Oil & Gas sector.

The laboratory has a full suite of materials testing capabilities, including

• mechanical testing,
• fatigue testing,
• metallography,
• chemical analysis,
• coatings testing,
• corrosion inhibitor testing, and
• corrosion testing for the oil & gas industry, including sour service corrosion testing, sulfide stress cracking testing, HIC and SOHIC testing).

Element Amsterdam also holds Lloyd’s Register certificates for IMO PSPC Coatings Testing in accordance with IMO MSC.288(87) for Protective Coatings for Cargo Oil Tanks (COT) and IMO MSC.215(82) for Protective Coatings for dedicated Seawater Ballast Tanks.

Amsterdam’s team of engaged experts has extensive backgrounds in material science, material engineering, and welding methods & technologies. In addition to a significant number of mechanical tests, they also provide industry standard and customer-specific corrosion tests and research projects for their clients. The team also contains a number of highly experienced and certified weld and weld technology experts that provide welding procedure and welder qualification testing, welding consultancy and onsite DNV certified welding qualification services.

The Failure Analysis team is highly experienced in determining root cause failure analyses, providing advice on material selection, failure prevention and repair procedures, and as expert witness support to the insurance sector.
